Roku, Inc. (NASDAQ: ROKU) Releases New Suite of Smart Home Goods At Walmart (NYSE: WMT)

Roku, Inc. (NASDAQ: ROKU) runs in bear really as shares dropped over 5.39% in premarket session on Thursday as the firm jointly revealed release of Roku’s new suite of smart home goods with Walmart (NYSE: WMT), which includes security cameras, video doorbells, lights, plugs, and other devices. This Roku product line extension delivers a comprehensive selection of easy and cheap smart home devices, which will be available exclusively in almost 3,500 Walmart stores beginning October 17.

“The Roku platform is utilized by tens of millions of homes as the #1 selling smart TV OS in the United States, and now we’re expanding our ecosystem to include devices and services to power the contemporary smart home,” said Mustafa Ozgen, Roku’s VP of Devices. “Expanding into the smart home category is a logical extension of our company, and we are excited to collaborate with Walmart to make the experience simple and inexpensive.”

Users will be able to view who is at their door with their Roku video doorbell while watching their favorite shows when Roku TV Operating System integration is released. Users will also be able to see live streaming from their Roku cameras, pull up video feeds using a Roku voice control, and much more. Roku Smart Home will support third-party voice integrations in addition to Roku Voice.

“We’re expanding the Roku ecosystem for the tens of millions of homes that already use Roku devices – or anybody seeking for a new way to level up their environments with smart lighting, cameras, and more,” said Mark Robins, vice president of Roku Smart Home. “We are delighted to provide the convenience and joy of the smart home, along with the value, choice, and ease of use that consumers love from the Roku brand, with our new range of Roku smart home products.”

Roku Smart Home cameras start at less than $27, with the whole lineup providing variety and value to those wishing to outfit the modern smart home. The introduction includes a Roku Smart Home iOS and Android mobile app, as well as a camera subscription plan with cloud video recording history, smart alarms, package arrival notifications, and other features.
