
Uber Technologies Inc. (NYSE: UBER) decreases in pre trading session on Tuesday as the firm red down pointing triangle, a 24-hour strike called by a union that represents drivers had no impact on service in New York City on Monday. The strike was called by the New York Taxi Workers Alliance after a court temporarily barred pay raises that were set to take effect on Monday. The union and the Uber drivers’ supporters pleaded with New Yorkers not to use the ride-hailing service.
In addition to announcing its new relationship with Meijer, a privately held company, the form also confirms Uber Eats’ countrywide expansion of its grocery option for clients in Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, and Wisconsin.
Nearly 250 Meijer sites will be open to Uber and Uber Eats customers starting this week and running through the winter. Customers will be able to purchase their favorite Meijer must-haves, including fresh and frozen turkeys, baked goods, veggies, and more, and have they delivered on-demand, right to their doorsteps, throughout the approaching holiday season. This holiday season, Meijer locations will be highlighted retailers across the Uber Eats app and will be a part of Uber’s Christmas Shop, a one-tap place for holiday necessities.
Customers may get $10 off their first $40+ Meijer order from Uber Eats with the code MEIJER10 until 12/31, while Uber One members get $0 Delivery Fees and 5% discount on orders of $35 or more.
